← Back to home ← Back to home Named Technical Partner for European R&D Consortia
Senior control-engineering, state-estimation, and nonlinear-optimization expert available as named technical partner / scientific advisor for Eureka, Eurostars-3, Horizon Europe, and ZIM-international R&D proposals.
Why include me on the consortium
Evaluators score consortium proposals on the credibility of the technical depth. A solo senior specialist with PhD-level publication record and production industrial experience in the relevant application domain raises the technical-merit score without adding FTE cost or bureaucratic complexity to the consortium.
Pillars with verifiable credentialed depth:
Industrial process control
Cryogenic NMPC at the LHC — 8-year CERN affiliation (Researcher 2007–2013 + Official Guide 2012–2015, hundreds of public technical lectures); superfluid helium multiphase thermohydraulics; soft sensors and inferential measurement for next-generation industrial plants; APC / MPC retrofit work across steel, cement, pharma, chemicals, HVAC. SCADA / WinCC OA experience at evosoft (Siemens Corporate Research).
Mechatronics & utility-scale wind energy
Ex-IAV GmbH (Control Engineer for large wind turbines, 2017–2020). Multi-year work on the world's largest utility-scale wind turbine of its time (>2 MW class). Load-alleviation control, pitch and torque architecture, tower damping, wake interactions; Economic NMPC, state estimation, On-Board Diagnostics, functional architecture.
Aerial autonomous systems
Ex-Skysails Power GmbH (Developer Flight Automation, 2020–2024). Parafoil and AWES (Airborne Wind Energy Systems) guidance, navigation, and control; UAV trajectory optimization; nonlinear robust autopilot under wind disturbances; 3D trajectory optimization for tethered-drone systems.
Programmes & funding pipeline
| Programme | Cycle | Fit |
| Eurostars-3 | Two cutoffs per year | All three application pillars |
| Eureka Clusters — Eurogia, Celtic-Next, ITEA 4, Smart, Xecs | Annual calls | Mapped per pillar — see below |
| Horizon Europe — Clusters 4 & 5 | Annual work programme | Industrial process, energy, mobility |
| ZIM-Kooperation international | Rolling submission | All three application pillars (DE + ≥1 foreign partner) |
Cluster fit by pillar
- Industrial process control / cryogenics → ITEA 4, Smart, Xecs (electronic components for big-science instrumentation).
- Mechatronics / wind turbines → Eurogia (low-carbon energy), Smart (advanced manufacturing).
- Aerial autonomous systems / AWES → Eurogia (AWES), Celtic-Next (autonomous-systems software).
Engagement shapes
Pre-award (proposal support)
Technical review of the WP descriptions, co-authoring of the technical-merit sections, named CV in the proposal, signed letter of commitment. €900/day, typically 5–15 days. Paid by the consortium lead from its own budget.
Post-award (subcontractor on an awarded project)
Execution of a specific work package — modelling, controller / estimator design, prototype validation, project reporting. €40–100k/year, 24–36 months. Funded out of the project budget at standard project rates.
